More and more family-friendly resorts offer amenities that appeal to both kids and adults in an effort to gain your travel dollars. As a result, you can have more time alone as a couple and more free time to do the things that you enjoy. At the same time, your kids will be having fun with the amenities that are catered to them. There are always plenty of activities for families to do together, too.
Amenities for kids
Family-friendly resorts are doing their utmost to provide activities that your children will enjoy. There are aquatic playgrounds, with things like waterfalls, twisting waterslides and water cannons,as well as interactive children's areas with Nintendo Wiis. In the evenings, children can listen to bedtime stories while they drink milk and eat cookies.
Some resorts are even going to the extreme of giving children facials, teaching toddlers how to play tennis and teaching preschoolers how to do acrobatics. Day camps, with prescreened counselors for every four to five children, have also become a popular amenity for kids. Other resorts are allowing the children to help prepare their own meals in restaurants they own.
Amenities for adults
In an effort to get your family's business, resorts will offer to instantly childproof your room so you don't have to worry about a thing. In-room, prescreened baby sitters are often available night and day. Any child furniture that you will need will be loaned to you upon arrival.
A large variety of sports activities are among the amenities for adults that are offered by family-friendly resorts. Swimming pools, sand volleyball courts, basketball courts and lighted tennis courts are just a few of the sports activities that are available. On-site fitness centers and spas are a favorite amenity for adults.
Amenities for families
Family-friendly resorts often offer amenities that both the parents and the children can enjoy together. Things such as a bonfire at the beach, a family kickball contest and camps that provide outdoor fun and crafts for the entire family are becoming more and more common. Organized games at the pool are another amenity that the family can enjoy together.
Mealtimes offer a way for family-friendly resorts to really shine. Knowing that children often eat very quickly, it is not uncommon for resorts to offer a Family Entertainment Center attached to their resort restaurants where children can go and play as soon as they finish eating. Resort staff is on duty to supervise their activities while the parents stay behind to enjoy their meal.
