Finding out you're pregnant is one of the most exciting times in your life. There are so many things to think about and plan for. You will be choosing a name for the baby, getting a nursery set up, and looking for clothes that fit your ever growing and changing body.
When looking for maternity clothes, there are a few options from which you will have to choose from. You have to keep in mind how much money you do or don't want to spend, what time of year it is and what seasons you will be pregnant during. Most women wont need maternity clothes until about week fifteen or so and then some women don't even gain enough weight to have to buy maternity clothes at all.
One cost effective way to purchase maternity clothes is to check your local Goodwill store, Salvation Army, or any thrift shop that sells clothing. At these shops you might be able to find gently used clothes such as jeans, dresses, or shirts. Maternity clothes usually stay in good shape as they are not worn on a regular long term basis.
Another cost effective way to purchase the clothes is to catch a sale. Usually stores clearance their clothes towards the end of the season, which is the best time to purchase the clothes ahead. This gives you time to prepare ahead as well. Some stores offer up to seventy percent off on clearance items. Sometimes, you can even find maternity jeans on clearance as well.
For the moms that don't gain much weight and still would like to wear their own jeans, there is a solution to turn those jeans into temporary maternity jeans. If your jeans have a button fly, you can attach a rubber band or hair tie to one end of the button and loop the other end through the opening for the button. Once you do that, take the loop you made and wrap it back around the button. This will give you a few extra inches of room. This helps to save money on jeans you will only wear a few times.
Its time to get the ball rolling, so get out there and do some shopping!
If you're shopping for maternity evening wear, there are some good places to look for selection and for bargains. The first step, though, is to figure out how much you're willing to invest for a very limited-use outfit. |
The exciting thing about pregnancy is that you never know what to expect. Are you having a boy or a girl? Will she have your eyes and your husband's chin? Will she be born before or after your due date? |
Today's pregnant woman leads an active lifestyle and wants to wear hip, trendy maternity clothes that not only look good, but provide comfort and support. Bright, fun colors such as purple, stripes, and plaids have replaced the old, drab black. |
