Crafting the basic felt finger puppet
To make a felt finger puppet, first cut out two pieces of your choice of craft felt in roughly a finger shape. The shape should be about twice the width of the finger for which it's intended, and should come down to about the second joint on the index finger. This will ensure that it will stay on the middle and index fingers well, but can also still be placed on a thumb or pinkie finger. If you would like to put ears on the finger puppet, cut those out now. If you're not sure what kind of ears the puppet will have, then cut two pieces of felt roughly the width the completed ears will be, but with extra material so that they can be cut down to the desired shape.
Stack the pieces of felt with one of the finger pieces on the bottom, then the ear pieces, followed by the other finger piece. The ears should be placed so that the base of the ear is even with the outside edge of the finger piece where the ear will be placed, with the tops of the ears pointed inward. You can either hand sew through all of the pieces around the edge of the finger, or glue inside the stack with fabric glue. Felt holds very tightly with just the glue if you'd prefer not to have needles in the craft area. Turn the finger puppet inside out, and you have the basic puppet.
