Teach your child to save their money with adorable coin banks for kids. It looks like a house. Just think, if your child saves enough money, he or she can buy something and learn that patience pays off. Make saving money more fun with a homemade craft that kids can make almost all by themselves.
Craft Difficulty Rating: Easy
You Will Need:
Whoppers cardboard box (or other house-shaped box)
Vellum paper
Scissors
Clear tape
Foam letters
Glue
Craft knife (adult use only)
Instructions:
Tape the box shut at the top so it will not open.
Cover the entire box with vellum paper, using any color or pattern that you want. It is best to use Vellum paper because it will not fade like construction paper after time. Use clear tape to hold the paper in place.
Decorate the front of the bank by cutting a door out of vellum paper and gluing it down. Add foam letters (or regular letter stickers) to spell out "Home Sweet Home."
Have an adult cut a slit in the top of the bank where you will insert your money. Make sure the hole is big enough to fit a half-dollar coin (in case you ever get one).
Now you have a place to save some money.
