How to Make a Snowman Craft Out of Foam

If you are looking for a snowman art project that won't give you numb fingers and toes, check out this adorable guy! You can make him easily, and he will never melt. Tuck him away safely when the winter season is over, and you can have him for many years to come.

Craft Difficulty Rating: Average

You Will Need:

• White, black, orange, brown and red foam
• Glue
• Scissors
• Yarn
• Scrap brown felt
• Hole punch  

Instructions:

1. Trace three different sized circles onto white foam. Cut the circles out. The circles should be proportional in size to each other.
2. Punch one hole near the bottom of the smallest circle. Punch holes on opposite sides of the two other circles.
3. Tie yarn through the holes to connect the three circles together. The yarn should be at least 3 inches in length to separate each circle.
4. Cut out a hat, 2 eyes and 4 small circles for the mouth out of black foam.
5. Cut a nose into a carrot shape with orange foam.
6. Cut two red buttons out of foam.
7. Cut two brown arms that look like sticks out of foam.
8. Cut a strip of brown felt that will be the snowman's scarf.
9. Glue all of the pieces into their proper places on the snowman. Make sure you glue the arms behind the middle white circle.
10. Wrap the brown felt around the top string into the shape of scarf.
11. Let your snowman dry completely before picking him up.
12. If you like, you can punch a hole through the top of his hat to hang him up, or you can apply a magnet strip to the back of his head to hang him on your refrigerator or other metal surface.
