The next time you have nothing to do, make puppets out of standard, letter-size envelopes. You can make your puppets look just like everyone in your own family. With a little imagination and a lot of creativity, you can also put on a spectacular puppet show for your whole family too.
Craft Difficulty Rating: Easy
You Will Need:
Large letter envelopes (#10)
Scissors
Construction paper, assorted colors
Yarn
Markers
Glue
Instructions:
One envelope makes two puppets, so gather as many envelopes as you need to make your entire family.
Seal the envelopes shut. Cut the envelopes in half vertically.
Cut out round shapes for faces, various shapes for clothes, and stick shapes for arms and legs for each member of your family. Remember that parents should be bigger than the kids. I made my adult heads come off the envelope edges.
Glue the pieces to the envelopes, on the flat side, not the side with the flap stuck down. Make sure you glue so the heads of the puppets are at the closed end of the envelope. Your hands will slide into the openings at the bottom.
Add yarn for hair. Use markers to draw faces.
To use, stick your whole hand into the opening at the bottom of the envelopes and put on a puppet show.
