Papier-mache Glue Recipes

Here are some quick and easy recipes to make your own papier mâché glue.

Note: Recipes work best with strips of newspaper or newsprint. They should be used within 2 to 3 days.

Recipe #1

You Will Need:

• 1 cup tap water

• 1/4 cup all-purpose flour

• 5 cups of boiling water

Instructions:

1. Mix the flour into one cup of tap water until the mixture is thin and runny.

2. Stir this mixture into the boiling water and stir for 3 minutes at a boil. Stir constantly.

3. Cool before using.

Recipe #2

You Will Need:

• 2 cups white glue

• 1 cup warm water

Instructions:
Mix the glue and water together, and it is ready to use.

Recipe #3

You Will Need:

• 1/2 cup wheat flour

• 1/4 cup powdered resin glue

• 1/2 cup warm water

• 1-1/2 cups hot water

• 4 drops oil of wintergreen

Instructions:

1. Mix the flour and resin glue in a saucepan.

2. Slowly pour in the warm water.

3. Add the hot water and stir vigorously.

4. Add the wintergreen.

5. Cook over a low heat stirring until paste is smooth, thick and clear. Once cooled, it is ready to use.
