Pencil and Pen Holder

Keeping your desk area neat and organized will help you when it's time to sit down and work on your homework or write or draw. Materials Needed

• Frozen juice container, coffee can or soup can (cleaned)
• 1 sheet of light-colored construction paper or wallpaper
• Crayons or markers
• Scissors
• Glue or masking tape
• A pen and pencil
• Magazines
• Photos
• Optional: glitter, sequins and ribbon

The first thing to do is to cover your can with the construction paper or wallpaper. Lay the can on top of the paper so that you can measure it for height and length. Once your paper is measured, cut it to shape and either glue it down or roll masking tape to stick it to the container.

Now the fun begins and you can let your imagination run wild. You can use your markers, crayons, glitter, pictures, photographs or anything else you have around the house that strikes your fancy.

Once your pen and pencil holder is completed, you're on your way to an organized desk-and who knows, maybe everyone in the family will want you to help them make a customized holder too. They also make great gifts for your friends or family-or for your teacher.
