Funny pickup lines are a much better than the alternative of corny or cocky pickup lines. At least you get a chuckle from a funny line, even if you do wind up turning the person down. However, a funny pickup line doesn't always mean that the individual possesses a sense of humor. Rather, a funny pickup line doesn't mean it will fit your sense of humor.

The first thing you want to do when trying to decide if a funny pickup line equals a sense of humor is to analyze the pickup line. Is it a common, general type of humor that someone would use in a bind? Or is it an original and clever type of humor? Does it sound rehearsed or spontaneous?

Common Humor
Common humor is similar to the joke about the chicken crossing the road-it is something that everyone knows and is capable of repeating. It shows very little imagination and is probably just one of a large stock of pickup lines. A pickup line that uses this bland, common humor is most definitely not an indication of a sense of humor.

If a funny pickup line sounds rehearsed, then you know it has nothing to do with humor. It's most likely just a clever ploy to pickup a date. Just because someone is smart enough to use humor in a romantic situation doesn't mean they have a sense of humor.

Clever humor is something that goes particularly well with the current situation. It's imaginative and well timed. It's far from common and always funny. This type of pickup line is most defiantly a sign of a sense of humor. Even better, if you find the line funny, you know it's a sign of a matching sense of humor.

If a funny pickup line sounds spontaneous, then you know it probably sprang from a great sense of humor. It's most likely a clever ploy to pickup a date from a clever sense of humor. The funnier you find the pickup line, the more likely your sense of humors match.
