How to Handle It When You Meet His Guy Friends

his friends

When a guy introduces you to his friends, it is a major step for a relationship. He wouldn’t want you to meet his guy friends if he didn’t like you, if he wasn’t proud to make that introduction and if he wasn’t considering making your relationship something more serious. Thus meeting his friends is a major step for any relationship. If you stay cool, are friendly, show the friends you respect their friendship with your man and are show a comfortable willingness to spend time with them, you could just end up impressing both your boyfriend and his friends.

When you first meet them, be friendly and make an effort. “Bros before hos” is at play here: The friends have been around much longer than you have, and this is a time for you to acknowledge that you know this. Smile, greet them, offer handshakes and ask questions. Do your very best to remember their names, and if you remember your boyfriend talking about them to you, try to bring up some of the things you know about them. For example, if you know one of your boyfriend’s friends just started a new job, ask about it. The more interest you show in their lives, the better.

Try not to be too clingy or touchy feely around your boyfriend. This is one of the main ways to turn off his friends and make them not like you. Instead, focus on them. You want to show that you’re interested in their friend, but you don’t need to sit and stroke his knee or make out with him all night long.

Though you don’t want to be lovey-dovey around your boyfriend, you do want to treat him well around his friends. Don’t be mean or expect him to do everything for you. You want to show his friends that you respect him and aren’t going to treat him poorly.

Have fun with them and think of them as your own friends. If you like your boyfriend and think that you’ll be with him a long time, you want to get in good with his friends. Thus, tease them, laugh with them, and be sure to be yourself. If you treat his friends well and they approve of you, you can keep yourself from having friend-related relationship issues and you just might make some new friends.
