How Can a Date Night Save my Marriage?

By: Steven Wayne Ansell

Relationship experts agree that a date night can save your marriage. Often times life gets too complicated and overwhelming for communication to function properly in a marriage. A date night between couples can maintain communication and strengthen a relationship. Experiencing the same feelings a couple had upon meeting each other builds a vibrant, healthy and long lasting marriage.

In today's overbearing world, date night is often overlooked or surrendered to "more important" matters. At the very least, experts maintain, fifteen minutes a day should be set aside for one-to-one communication between couples. These fifteen minutes are crucial to establishing a commitment to a strong, healthy marriage. Mini-dates can be established daily to protect the communication that is vital toward keeping a marriage happy and long lasting.

Take time to have a cup of coffee together or eat breakfast with each other every morning. Use this "mini-date" to focus on one another and communicate effectively. Keep the kids aside and put the newspaper down, turn off the TV and focus on one another. Other great times to schedule fifteen minute "mini-dates" are after work or before bedtime. Making a commitment to establishing these times to communicate and share as a couple can really save a marriage. Make a habit of taking these times to tune out from the world and tune in to your mate. Fifteen minutes a day is hardly to much to ask to maintain a marriage.

On a regular basis make time for a real date night. Not every date has to be extravagant or expensive. Dinner and a movie, or to save money, take-out and a DVD can be enough to re-establish a connection between couples. The continuity of a regular date night is more important than the date itself. This is one habit that can make a marriage last and grow.

In a marriage the connectivity of a couple will lead to re-newed vitality and communication will be a huge factor toward longevity. Date night will keep the longing and attraction in a relationship. Couples that continue to "date" one another grow together and resist falling apart. Taking turns planning the date night will keep excitement and intrigue in the relationship.
