Fall Wedding Flowers

Fall is a beautiful season to get married. The leaves on the trees are bursting with color and the cool air is comfortable. Fall colors look gorgeous in a wedding, and fall wedding flowers serve as a perfect accent piece. A fall theme wedding will include fall colors. What are fall colors? They are the colors that you naturally see occurring in the fall season – burgundy, apricot, mustard yellow, and dark greens and warm browns.

For floral bouquets in fall colors, you may wish to opt for flowers that are in season, to save money instead of having flowers shipped in from warmer climates. Roses come in a variety of colors and are available year round. Consider these varieties of roses: Star 2000 (coral orange), Black Magic (dark burgundy), Red Berlin (tomato red), Sari (apricot orange) and Terra Cotta (burnt orange in color).

Besides roses, there are also fall season flowers that make lovely additions to the bouquets. Consider these: holly, amaryllis, daphne, iris, winter jasmine, cotoneaster, narcissus, montbretia. Accents of the fall season are the same colors, and may also include dark green leaves, or red berries.

When deciding on a fall bouquet, it can be hard to picture what your choices would look like. To help those attempting to envision the final result, there are Web tools that now allow brides-to-be to build virtual bouquets. With these tools, you can select flowers you like and the programs will combine them into a bouquet which you can print out and take to your florist. You just select and drag the flowers and accents around the page and put them together until you like what you have created. It’s really fun, and could be a great way to see a preview of what you can do with fall flowers. At least it’s a way to start the discussion with your florist and show her what you are thinking of.
