Making Your Own Wedding Guest Book

By: Lisa Bower

A guest book is an important piece of a wedding because it allows one's friends and family members to leave their thoughts and wishes for the new couple. A wedding is a big event, and if you are looking for a way to not only make this moment memorable but want to save a bit of cash, then you should consider making your own wedding guest book.

Supplies:

  • Blank Book
  • Stamp Pads
  • Rubber Stamps
  • Photographs and Images
  • Glue Stick
  • Ruler
  • Pens
  • Scissors

Directions:
The first step is to figure out which photographs, poetry, and other images and text you want included in your wedding guest book. If you have photographs of you and your loved one, be sure to use copies of originals: You don't want your only copies to be contained within your guest book. Generally, the images and words you include in a guest book should be representative of the event. Thus, you should consider images of you and your loved one and of things that mean a lot to you, such as the spot of the proposal. Similarly, consider using quotations and words that mark the occasion and your union.

You can cut your photographs and other images using regular scissors, decorative scissors that give cut-outs a patterned edge, or with an exacto knife. Use the glue stick to place them throughout the pages of your book. You can use blank pages or you can find a blank book and insert pre-made guest book pages that you can find online to print or in many craft stores. If you want to use blank pages, you can use a ruler to draw lines for your guests to write on.

Take the time to decorate the cover of your guest book so that you will remember it for years to come. This is a chance for you to mark the occasion of your union. You can put a photograph of you and your loved one on the cover or you can use quotations to mark the event. If you want something simple, then you can always just print the date of the event or the names of you and your loved one. The type of cover you have is representative of the individuals and their relationship.
