How to Build Your Own Mini Bike

Have you ever wanted to build your own mini bike? Building your own mini bike can be a challenge, but a worthwhile one. Get your bike gear together and get ready for a little mini bike riding once you've completed building your mini bike. Here are some tips to get you started on your mini bike project.

The first thing you should do when building your own mini bike is to order a mini bike kit. There is a wide variety of options regarding mini bike kits that you can order, and you should be able to find just what you are looking for online. The benefit of ordering a mini bike kit is that it will come with directions on how to build your mini bike.

You can build a mini bike without a kit. You should be a very handy person if you're going to go this route. To do this you will need to buy each part of the mini bike individually: wheels, an exhaust system, throttle assembly and throttle cables and a filter assembly, to name a few pieces. This is an extensive (and potentially expensive) option, but doable if you're experienced in building things like mini bikes.

The first thing you will need to do when it comes time to actually build the mini bike is to assemble the frame. You will put together the frame (either according to the directions that come with the mini bike kit or in the way which will make your mini bike custom to the way you want it). At this time you'll also put together the brake lever, the throttle and control.

Next you will assemble the wheels and tires. If you aren't putting together a mini bike according to the directions of a kit, make sure that you attach the wheels securely to the frame and also that you install a kickstand. This will keep your mini bike from falling over and ruining all the hard work that you're putting into it.

The third step will be to put front and rear fenders onto your mini bike. Then comes the fun part: building and installing the engine. The engine of a mini bike will essentially go underneath the seat of the mini bike and will be resting on the frame. Building the engine is one of those times that you'll want to have mechanical experience. Finally install a chain on your mini bike to propel the bike.

Take your mini bike out for a test drive. The first time you ride it you should take it to a deserted section of road and make sure you're wearing a helmet!
