What are the Measurements of the Cornhole Board

So, what are the measurements of the cornhole board? Whether you call it cornhole, bean bag toss, or soft horseshoes, the objective of the game is the same: toss a corn bag at a wooden box, known as a platform. What size is the platform? Let's look at the measurements for a cornhole board.

An Official Board
The American Cornhole Association governs cornhole play and equipment. The group's rules state that a cornhole platform shall measure 48 inches x 24 inches. The one-half inch plywood rectangle has a hole in it that is six inches in diameter. The hole is centered nine inches from the top and one foot from each side of the platform edge.

In the front, the cornhole platform is 2 ½ inches from bottom to top and is close to a 90-degree angle to the platform face. At the back of the platform, the board sits one foot from the ground to the highest point of the platform and sits at a 90-degree angle to the deck face.

Solid wood flanks each side. The only opening is the hole on the platform.

Tailgate Game Boards
Cornhole is fun to play at a tailgate party before a football game. Instead of lugging a huge four foot platform, why not make a smaller-sized board for tailgating purposes? These boards measure three feet by two feet. All other aspects of the tailgating versions remain the same as a regulation board.

Cornhole lets everyone have fun. The portable game is safe for all players and can be played anywhere. Grab a corn bag and toss! You'll get the party popping.
