Did you know you can you learn to ski online? If you want to learn to snow ski but you've never been on a ski mountain, let alone a pair of skis, you may be daunted by the prospect of trying to learn to ski all at once. One way to get some of the technical aspects down before you hit the slopes is to learn to ski online.

Find a good website that can teach you how to ski online. The sounder a site is, the easier it will be for you to learn online. You want a certified ski instructor to be teaching the course, even if it's online. ABC of skiing is a favorite for not only tutorials but for other skiing and equipment tips.

Visual learners do especially well learning to ski online. If you can learn by watching, you could get some of the basics down by watching tutorials online or watching actual skiers. The biggest downside is that you don't have a ski instructor watching what you're doing and you won't be able to ask any questions.

Read and watch as much as you can online; then head to the mountain. There is no substitute for hands-on learning. You need to be able to practice, to feel snow underneath your skis, to really learn how to move and turn. Find a small mountain that isn't crowded when you're a beginner.

Some online ski tutorials charge for lessons. This isn't necessarily a bad thing, depending on how much you want to learn before you actually hit the slopes. Keep in mind that you can probably find a good website for free.
