If you wish to install Macromedia Flashplayer 6 to your computer, follow these steps.
First, open your computer's web browser (such as Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox) and go to http://www.adobe.com/go/getflashplayer. From there, you can download Macromedia flash software different ways, depending on your computer's operating system.
If you wish to install Macromedia Flashplayer 6 from Windows using Internet Explorer, just click Agree and Install Now. Recognize that by doing this, you're accepting the Terms of Agreement. Make sure you read these carefully (more on that below). You may have to click Install to install the ActiveX control, depending on your computer's security settings.
If you're using a Mac or using Windows but not using Internet Explorer, you'll begin installing the Flashplayer the same way (by clicking Agree and Install Now from Adobe's web page). Make sure you read the Terms of Agreement carefully. FlashPlayer can compromise your internet privacy by allowing small tracking files (known as Persistent Identification Elements, or PIE's), to be stored on your computer. Getting rid of these is not as simple as changing your preferences. If you want to stop the PIE's, you'll have to go to the Adobe.com website and use their Settings Manager to disable the PIE's.
