How to Uninstall Mozilla Firefox

If you need to know how to uninstall Mozilla Firefox, you might have run into some problems. After it's off your machine, you can decide whether or not to reinstall it.

Make sure Firefox isn't running. If it is running, go to the File button in the browser window and click Exit. Then you'll head to the Control Panel of your computer, which you can locate from the Start Menu. You'll want to open the list of Windows programs currently installed on your computer, then click Uninstall a program. Next you'll select Mozilla Firefox as the program you wish to uninstall.

The Mozilla Firefox Uninstall Wizard will open. This will make the process of uninstalling Mozilla Firefox easy, as it will walk you through the steps of uninstalling the program. Simply click Next, then Uninstall. Finally, click Finish.

If you have programs saved to your computer from Firefox, you may have to go in and delete those yourself. You should be able to find those at C:\Program files\Mozilla Firefox.

If you want to make sure that all traces of Firefox are deleted from your system, you'll have to do what's called a clean uninstall. Keep in mind that this will delete everything - saved passwords, cookies and bookmarks. If you want to keep these things, you should back them up before going through with the clean uninstall. To do this, select Folder Options from your Start menu, then click Show hidden files and folders. You'll want to delete everything with Firefox, such as the profile folder and the temporary data folder. Once this is complete, you should have successfully uninstalled Mozilla Firefox from your computer.
