How to Create New Gmail Accounts

It's not difficult to create new Gmail accounts, although it can be confusing. When Google first allowed people outside its own company to use Gmail, it was by invitation only. This meant that in order to create a new Gmail account, a current Gmail user had to send you an invitation. In February of 2007 Google changed this policy, opening Gmail up to the general public. Still, many people associate Gmail accounts with invitation-only and are hesitant to attempt to create their own.

A Gmail account does more than just provides you with email. Other features of Gmail include access to blogs, the ability to see previews of videos and photos in your email, being able to "undo" sending an email, access to Gmail from your phone or while offline, to name a few. Learning how to create new Gmail accounts is as simple as it is with any other email provider.

Head to www.google.com to get started. At the top of this page is a link to Gmail. Click on this and you'll be directed to a page where you can either sign in or create a new account. Click "Create an Account" and you'll be taken to the next page to begin to create new Gmail accounts.

You'll have to fill out some general information, such as your name. Then comes the fun part; choosing a login name. Your login name can be anything you want from your name to a combination of your nickname plus your birthday. Gmail will check to make sure nobody else using Google mail has the same login name. Once you've found an original login name, you'll have to choose a password. Again, Gmail will help you out by letting you know how strong your password is (meaning how difficult it would be for somebody else to guess it).

Make sure you read the Terms of Agreement before you complete signing up. Some users aren't happy with their privacy agreement, so it's a good idea to be familiar with the terms before you've committed to create new Gmail accounts.

You're almost done. You may choose to take the tour of Gmail. Although this may initially seem like a waste of time, it can save you agony and frustration down the road. Also, it can clue you in to services you may not realize that Gmail offers.
