Nintendo DS Game List

The Nintendo DS game list of games everyone should own.
  1. Super Mario 64.
Some classic formulas work, and Super Mario 64 for DS is a prime example of a successful game that's almost a re-release of an aging classic. With some updated characters and just a few plot twists, Super Mario 64 DS is pretty much the same game as the 1996 version for the N64, and it still works over a decade later. Graphics are updated, including an increased polygon count to vastly improve the 3D modeling, and the game performs well with a nice, even frame rate. If you liked the original, you'll like Super Mario 64 DS.
  2. Nintendogs.
Nintendogs is one of the first DS games to really take advantage of the Dual-Screen technology to offer unique game play, and it's a big hit. While it's just a pet simulator that doesn't really appeal to hardcore gamers, the use of the DS touch-screen to pet your dogs and the DS microphone to give your puppy a verbal command is revolutionary in the gaming world. Nintendogs each have distinct personalities, and how you interact with your dog influences how he develops. All the fun of caring for a puppy and none of the responsibility.
  3. Brain Age.
Brain Age is an interesting concept, incorporating basic math problems and memorization puzzles to improve your mental acuity and help your brain stay fit. As you answer increasingly difficult math puzzles and reading comprehension tests, the game ramps up, measuring how long it takes you to solve problems, memorize and count syllables in a phrase. Compete against your own score, or enter a multiplayer mode with up to 15 other players for a more difficult challenge.
  4. Mario Kart DS.
Mario Kart comes back for another successful installment in this DS version, featuring the entertaining game play you expect from a Mario Kart game combined with the first multiplayer version ever released. With the classic game play you've grown to love, Mario Kart DS features 32 races, many of which you must unlock during the course of the game, and the wacky weapons that are the hallmark of the Mario Kart series. Whimsical animations and sounds really enhance the gameplay, and the forgiving handling ensures that Mario Kart is always fun.
  5. Animal Crossing: Wild World.
The DS installment of Animal Crossing, Wild World, brings the same charming life-simulation game play as the console version to your portable handheld. While there are a few new tasks you can complete, the classic tasks from the GameCube game are still the mainstay of the game's play. Wild World incorporates the ability to play in the same village and interact with up to 3 friends, which is a nice bonus if the basic sim game play gets old. With days and seasons passing in real time, it's fun to watch the characters take on seasonal tasks and enjoy the unique events that pop up each month.
