Living life in the public eye isn’t easy, so it’s no surprise that several celebs have basically gone into hiding in an effort to keep their pregnancies secret. The paparazzi often don’t respect celebrities’ personal lives, but these super-sneaky stars managed to welcome new babies into the world with no one knowing. From hiding a growing bump to keeping a child’s birth a mystery, you may still be surprised by some of these well-kept baby secrets.

Blake Lively

Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds are exceptional secret keepers. In fact, no one actually knows the exact birthdates of their three kids. Photos of the Lively-Reynolds girls are few and far between, but when Reynolds got his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, James and Inez were front and center for the first time ever.

While Lively stepped out fairly early in her first two pregnancies, she pretty much shocked the world with a sizable baby bump when she was pregnant with her third. She gave birth sometime in 2019, and the baby’s name is unknown.

Kylie Jenner

While a lot of people speculated about Kylie Jenner’s pregnancy, the Keeping Up With the Kardashians star kept the whole thing a secret and didn’t share any pregnancy photos until after she gave birth. Jenner and her now-ex, Travis Scott, welcomed their daughter Stormi Webster in February of 2018. The reality star simply wanted to take it all in without living that part of her life in the public eye.

These days, Stormi makes frequent appearances on her mom’s Instagram account. Jenner often shares photos and videos of her daughter, who has changed her mom’s life forever.

Ellie Kemper

Actress Ellie Kemper hasn’t been shy about sharing pics of her baby bumps, but when it comes to going into labor, she and her husband prefer to keep things on the downlow.

Kemper gave birth to her second child without the public knowing. She didn’t introduce her son to the world until he was a month old. “Happy 1-Month Birthday to our baby boy, Matthew! He has inherited his dad’s brown hair and his mom’s desire to be carried around all day in a baby sling,” Kemper said in an Instagram post caption in October of 2019.

Beyonce

Beyonce and Jay-Z conceived their first child in 2011 but kept the pregnancy a secret until the right moment for the reveal — the MTV VMAs. Beyonce took to the stage for an epic performance that ended with her rubbing her belly, confirming her pregnancy. At the time, Bey was already five months pregnant.

In 2017, Beyonce and Jay-Z got more exciting news: they were expecting twins. The couple welcomed their babies and were able to keep the first pictures out of the tabloids. Beyonce released a pic of Sir and Rumi one month later.

Luis D. Ortiz

Million Dollar Listing New York star Luis D. Ortiz quietly became a dad and didn’t introduce his daughter Leela to the world until September of 2019 when she was already six months old. Since welcoming the baby, Ortiz and Leela’s mom have decided to raise her in Puerto Rico.

“I’m moving to my hometown with Leela and her mother. Why? Because when I brought Leela to Puerto Rico, I saw her face and I saw her energy. We’re gonna try for a year, maybe two years, and just focus every minute on this baby girl,” he said.

Ricky Martin

Ricky Martin has been super-private about growing his family. Most recently, he and his husband Jwan Yosef welcomed their fourth child. The duo introduced their baby boy to the world on social media with very little fuss.

“Nuestro hijo Renn Martin-Yosef ha nacido,” Martin captioned the image, which is Spanish for “Our son Renn Martin-Yosef was born.” Renn was born via surrogate, just like his older siblings, Valentino, Matteo and Lucia. Renn’s baby photo came soon after his birth, unlike his siblings’ photos. In fact, Lucia’s first photo wasn’t posted until she was six months old.

Trey Songz

Fans were shocked to learn that Trey Songz had welcomed a baby in 2019. The rapper took to social media to share a black-and-white photo of himself holding a baby’s foot. A few hours later, he shared another photo of a sleeping baby and officially announced that he had become a dad.

“My son Noah. We are blessed and overjoyed. Peace,” he captioned the second photo. Fans have been going crazy trying to find out who Noah’s mom is, but the “Mr. Steal Your Girl” singer has made it clear that the information isn’t anyone’s business.

Adam Driver

Adam Driver became a father and didn’t tell anyone that he had a son. In fact, it wasn’t until his son was two that the public found out that Driver was on daddy duty in his spare time.

In 2018, Page Six revealed that the Star Wars actor and his wife, Joanne Tucker, had a “secret” son. The couple supposedly shared updates on the pregnancy, birth and toddler years on social media — but the accounts they used were private. To this day, Driver has never spoken publicly about his son.

Jessica Parido

Shahs of Sunset star Jessica Parido managed to keep her entire pregnancy quiet, surprising fans two months after she gave birth.

“On February 23, 2019, my little miracle Boy was born. I decided to keep my pregnancy off of social media and enjoy the time without the opinions and comments of others. I contemplated never posting about it and carrying on but IM A MOM, I have a son, a beautiful little miracle who I’ll cherish the rest of my life and to not share this would be not sharing me,” she wrote on Instagram.

Nicole Kidman

Nicole Kidman and her husband Keith Urban welcomed their second child without the world knowing. The couple used a surrogate to carry the baby, introducing her to the world after she was born. Faith Margaret made the Kidman-Urban clan a family of four in 2010.

“I wanted to be able to tell everybody because I was so excited about her. [But] we just decided this was our thing together. It kind of just perpetuated itself. [And] it protects her and it protects everyone in the situation,” the actress said on the red carpet at the 2011 SAG Awards.

Laura Linney

Laura Linney didn’t want the public involved in her pregnancy in any way, shape or form. In fact, she was able to keep her entire pregnancy, labor and birth a secret. The Ozark actress and her husband Marc Schauer welcomed their only child back in 2014 — and Linney wasn’t ever photographed with a baby bump!

Linney was 49 years old when she gave birth to Bennett Armistead Schauer. The actress’ rep confirmed the exciting news to People magazine at the time, adding that the mom and baby were happy and healthy after Bennett’s January 8 arrival.

Eva Mendes

Eva Mendes and her beau Ryan Gosling were pretty secretive when they first got together — and they still are. When Mendes got pregnant with the couple’s first child, the news was hush-hush. When the baby girl was born, sometime in September of 2014, no birth announcement was made.

Mendes and Gosling managed to do the same thing when their second child was born. Mendes was several months pregnant before the public found out that she was expecting again. However, thanks to some serious detective work, TMZ discovered that Amada Lee Gosling was born on April 29, 2018.

Ellen Pompeo

Ellen Pompeo and her husband Chris Ivery quietly welcomed their second child in 2014. They became a family of four after a surrogate gave birth to their daughter, Sienna May. The Grey’s Anatomy actress hid her entire pregnancy and was successful in keeping the paparazzi off of the trail.

Pompeo revealed the happy news on Instagram when Sienna was a couple months old. Two years later, Pompeo and Ivery announced that they had welcomed another child via surrogate. Their son, Eli Christopher, completed their family of five. Their other daughter Stella was born in 2009.

Alexis Bledel

This actress keeps her child completely out of the public eye. In fact, no one has ever seen her little one. When Bledel was pregnant, she didn’t tell anyone outside of her inner circle. Nine months later, when she and her husband Vincent Kartheiser welcomed their baby boy, they kept that a secret, too.

The public found out about baby Bledel thanks to the actress’ Gilmore Girls costar Scott Patterson. He slipped up, telling Glamour that Bledel was a mom. The news was later confirmed by Bledel’s rep — but we still don’t have pics.

Donald Glover

Perhaps it hasn’t been super-challenging for Donald Glover to keep his kids a secret, but when he revealed that he had welcomed a baby boy, the world was quite surprised. The comedian, actor and musician made the announcement during his acceptance speech at the 2017 Golden Globe Awards. The child’s name is Legend.

Flash forward a couple of years, and Glover is the father of two little boys. There’s no word, however, on the second child’s name. Glover hasn’t said much about his children or about his partner Michelle White, all of whom live a life outside of the spotlight.

Sandra Bullock

Sandra Bullock was in the middle of the adoption process when her then-husband Jesse James was exposed as a sex addict. The actress went on with the adoption, keeping the details completely private. She welcomed her son Louis in 2010.

Five years later, Bullock decided to adopt another child — this time a baby girl named Laila. Bullock opened up about her daughter in 2018, telling InStyle that Laila suffers from PTSD that stemmed from people trying to take her picture. This helps explain why Bullock shields her kids from the public eye.

Zoe Saldana

Zoe Saldana and Marco Perego are parents to twin boys, Cy and Bowie. However, when the couple welcomed their third child, they were able to do so secretly. Saldana went into labor and gave birth without tipping off the public or the paparazzi. The world met baby boy Zen Perego after he was home.

“Marco and I are elated to share the news of the birth of our son Zen. We couldn’t feel more blessed with the new addition to our family. #threeboys… oh boy,” the Guardians of the Galaxy actress captioned an Instagram post.

Anna Kournikova

Tennis star Anna Kournikova and her longtime love Enrique Iglesias surprised the world when they introduced their twins, Nicholas and Lucy. The best part? No one even knew that Kournikova was pregnant. The babies were born on December 16, 2017. A few months later, Kournikova shared a throwback photo of herself at 37 weeks pregnant.

These days, Nicholas and Lucy make frequent appearances on their parents’ social media accounts, and they sure are adorable. Iglesias often posts silly photos and videos with his little ones, and fans simply cannot get enough.

Drake

In 2018, Drake’s secret son was outed thanks to a diss track. It was Pusha T who leaked the bombshell news, shocking fans around the world, and Drake eventually came clean. He had gotten adult film actress Sophie Brussaux pregnant. The Canadian rapper came clean with the public by way of a track of his own. His son, Adonis, was “confirmed” on Drake’s album Scorpion.

In October of 2019, Drake posted a photo dedicated to his son’s birthday. “Happy Birthday King,” Drake captioned an Instagram photo of huge, gold-colored birthday balloons that spelled out the baby’s name.

Charlize Theron

Charlize Theron adopted her second child without letting the public know. Theron wanted the process to be something that she could enjoy without having the public all in her business. Her daughter, named August, was adopted just after Theron broke things off with Sean Penn.

Theron also adopted a child she named Jackson. “I am raising two beautiful proud Black African girls and I want them to find themselves and not necessarily push my ancestry on them,” Theron told Jimmy Fallon.

Rashida Jones

Back in 2018, it was reported that actress Rashida Jones and her boyfriend, Vampire Weekend lead singer Ezra Koenig, welcomed their first child. However, the report didn’t surface until a couple of months after Jones gave birth.

Interestingly, Jones and Koenig’s entire relationship has been somewhat of a secret. The two started dating sometime in 2016, but they’d never actually confirmed their romance, taking privacy to a whole other level. As far as the public knows, the two are still together and they only have one child, a son they named Isaiah Jones Koenig.

Arnold Schwarzenegger

Arnold Schwarzenegger’s secret baby remained a secret for nearly 20 years. Joseph Baena was born to Mildred Baena two decades ago. Mildred served as a housekeeper in the Schwarzenegger-Shriver household. It turns out that the former “governator” had an affair with her and she ended up getting pregnant with his child — while he was married to Maria Shriver.

The “love child” was taken care of financially by Schwarzenegger and, as he got older, the relationship got harder to hide. Joseph is the spitting image of his famous dad. Since going public, Schwarzenegger and Baena hang out frequently.

Owen Wilson

Surprise! It’s a girl. Owen Wilson took a paternity test after a woman named Varunie Vongsvirates claimed that he was the father of her baby. Turns out she was right. The little girl is Wilson’s third child, but very little is known about her and his relationship with her mom.

Even after the news broke, Wilson chose not to publicly comment on his daughter, Lyla. The actor is also a dad to Robert Ford, whom he had with Jade Duell, and son Finn, whom he had with his former personal trainer Caroline Lindqvist.

Jessica Chastain

Jessica Chastain kept her pregnancy a secret and didn’t even announce that she’d welcomed a baby. She and her husband chose to keep their personal lives completely out of the public eye and were successful in doing so. It wasn’t until Chastain was spotted on set in Boston pushing a baby stroller that the public was clued in.

In January of 2019, Chastain shared the very first photo of her little one, but fans didn’t get to see much. “You’ve got good taste, kid,” she captioned the photo of her baby’s hand, which was reaching for a ruby ring.

Isla Fisher

Isla Fisher and her husband Sacha Baron Cohen haven’t been too forthcoming when it comes to information about their kids, and that is by choice. In fact, when Fisher got pregnant with her third child, the only reason people found out was because she left Now You See Me 2.

Fisher went on to give birth a few months later, but no one knew the baby’s actual birthday. The public knew that Fisher and Cohen had become parents for a third time only after the paparazzi caught them out with the new baby in April of 2015.

Eddie Murphy

It’s no secret that Eddie Murphy is a ladies’ man; he has 10 kids with a few different women. However, one of his kids was a bit of a secret, even to him. When Spice Girl Mel B. got pregnant, Murphy denied being the baby’s father. After the baby was born, however, a paternity test put all of the denials to rest.

Angel Iris Murphy Brown was born on April 3, sharing a birthday with her dad. Despite reports that Murphy wanted nothing to do with his daughter, he is an active part of her life.

Hugh Grant

Hugh Grant fathered three children in a fairly short time span at the age of 53. Two of the children were with Tinglan Hong, and the third was with Anna Eberstein. The public didn’t know that Grant was the father of Eberstein’s child until his name appeared on the birth certificate. The document became public nearly a year later, showing Grant as the child’s dad.

Grant went on to have two more children with Eberstein, making him a father of five. He often talks about his kids but shields them from the public the best he can.

Simon Cowell

Simon Cowell started dating Lauren Silverman in 2009. At the time, she was married, so the two carried on a secret relationship. A couple of years later, Silverman found out that she was pregnant. Despite coming forward about their relationship, the two kept things about the pregnancy fairly quiet. Their son was born on February 14, 2014. They named the baby Eric.

“People have asked me if I have changed since I have had Eric and of course you do, you can’t help it,” Cowell told the Daily Mail after becoming a dad.

Adele

Adele announced that she was pregnant with her first child on her blog in June of 2012. However, she requested that the public give her and her then-husband Simon Konecki privacy through the pregnancy, and that’s exactly what happened.

Four months later, Adele gave birth to a baby boy. Although the news was confirmed by various online media outlets, no photos of baby Angelo were made available. Since his birth, however, the paparazzi have caught him out with his mom on several occasions. Despite pregnancy rumors, Adele only has one child. She and Konecki split in 2019.

Steven Tyler

Steven Tyler’s daughter was a secret to everyone, including him. He didn’t know about his daughter, Liv, for almost eight years. Up until that point, Liv thought that her dad was Todd Rundgren, her mom’s live-in boyfriend at the time. However, as Liv got older, she started to resemble the Aerosmith frontman and the truth was eventually revealed.

Liv was still a secret to the public, however, as no one knew that Steven was her dad. Years later, when Liv legally changed her last name to Tyler, the secret was out.
